The University of La Laguna held the second edition of its "Mosaic of Opportunities" Job Fair today, Friday, November 6th. This initiative, organized by the University Agency for Training and Employment of the General Foundation, brought together more than 300 students and graduates from the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism. The event included the participation of companies, professionals, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives, with the aim of connecting university talent with the job market and fostering new professional and business opportunities.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony was attended by the managing director of FGULL, Julio Brito; the rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco J. Garc\u00eda; the deputy minister of Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, Isabel Le\u00f3n; the deputy director of Social Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Canary Islands Employment Service, Francisco Santana; and the vice-rector of Students of the ULL, Mar\u00eda Rosario Hern\u00e1ndez, among other authorities.<\/p>\n

During the opening, Julio Brito highlighted the role of the General Foundation as a tool to facilitate access to employment and support professional development through guidance, training, and entrepreneurship. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between public administrations, businesses, and universities to connect university education with the needs of the labor market.<\/p>\n

For his part, the rector of the University of La Laguna (ULL) emphasized the university's mission to cultivate talent and help it find opportunities to develop and contribute to society. In his address, he outlined three dimensions that embody the spirit of the event: developing talent through education, connecting it with businesses and society, and channeling it through entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Minister of Employment for the Canary Islands Government emphasized the importance of having spaces that offer information, advice, and support for those who wish to start their own businesses. In this regard, she highlighted the various opportunities the job market offers, both for those seeking employment and for those wishing to redirect their career path or launch a business venture.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Director of Social Economy and Entrepreneurship explained the support programs offered by this agency to facilitate access to employment and promote entrepreneurship. Among these, he highlighted aid for self-employment, the possibility of using a lump sum unemployment benefit to start a business, and measures aimed at promoting work-life balance.<\/p>\n

For her part, the Vice-Rector for Students highlighted the role of the General Foundation and the Emprende.ull service in supporting students who wish to develop a business initiative. Along with external internships as a pathway to the job market, entrepreneurship represents an alternative for those who have a business idea and need guidance to launch it.<\/p>\n

Thirteen companies and six entrepreneurial projects <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Forum featured thirteen participating companies and organizations, which showcased their professional opportunities through information booths and direct interaction with the university community. These included the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Mapfre, EAVE, Atl\u00e1ntica Handling, Visual Novel Universe, AJE, Iplan, Fred. Olsen, Luz Digital, Canared, Lafuente Asesores, Acciona, and the Canary Islands Employment Service.<\/p>\n

The program also included the presentation of six entrepreneurial projects linked to the free business advisory and support service, hosted by Podcaster Volcania. The participating initiatives were Mar de Nubes, Canary One, La Fibra Sensible, the professional projects of Argelia Brito and Basilio G\u00f3mez, and Peque\u00f1os Corazones. The presentations showcased business experiences in areas such as speech therapy, audiovisual communication, music production, innovation, and childcare.<\/p>\n

During the morning session, attendees participated in activities designed to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial skills. These included "Your Professional Photo," "LinkedIn," soft skills training using virtual reality headsets, Visual Novel, "My Mosaic Piece" based on LEGO\u00ae SERIOUS PLAY\u00ae, Canary One, and Playmobil Pro.<\/p>\n

The program included a presentation by Elena Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, focused on the future of work beyond the point of no return. The specialist addressed the relationship between talent and hope as key elements for reflecting on the changes transforming the world of work and future professional landscapes.<\/p>\n

Carlos Pedr\u00f3s, a member of Abubukaka, also participated, sharing his professional experience in the creative and cultural field. His presentation offered the audience a practical perspective on entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of creativity, personal initiative, and the ability to transform ideas into professional projects.<\/p>\n

The Employment Forum is part of the Capacita program, subsidized by the Tenerife Island Council and financed by MEDI-FDCAN, as well as the SOAL and Emprende.ull services, financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service.<\/p>\n
