Josimar Godoy Gonz\u00e1lez, a recent graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of La Laguna, has achieved the second highest score on the national program exam. Resident Pharmacy Intern<\/a> (FIR). The result of this exam, similar to the MIR in medicine and regulated by the Ministry of Health, will allow him to choose the hospital where he will develop his professional career. The Canary Islands is his preferred location for his residency.<\/p>\n

After completing his studies at IES El Doctoral in Gran Canaria, Josimar moved to Tenerife to pursue a degree in Pharmacy at the University of La Laguna. \u201cI consider my undergraduate years to be the best experience I\u2019ve had up to that point, as they combined everything I consider essential: a good faculty, excellent professors, and the best possible people to be around,\u201d the graduate remarked. Although he hesitated after finishing his undergraduate studies about whether or not to pursue a master\u2019s degree, he ultimately decided to continue his preparation, this time at a private academy, to achieve his goal of passing the national exam and working in hospital pharmacy.<\/p>\n

It only took him a few months, from August to January, to achieve one of the highest scores nationwide. However, despite admitting he always had a strong mindset to aspire to a top position, his second-place finish came as a surprise. \u201cI\u2019m very proud of the work I\u2019ve done these past months. If there\u2019s one thing that defines my journey during this time, it\u2019s consistency,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are so many factors that play a significant role on exam day, such as nerves or luck, things that unfortunately aren't always controllable.\u201d Josimar Godoy, aware of the difficulty of taking a lengthy national exam like the FIR, which involves facing clinical cases, also wanted to send a message of encouragement to those who didn't pass. \u201cAn exam doesn't define the effort and perseverance of all these months. It's not a failure, because failure would be not having tried. There are always more opportunities; our time will come,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
