The Vice-Rectorate for Students of the University of La Laguna has developed at the beginning of this month of February a training course aimed at the teaching staff, whose objective was to improve the coordination and support between teachers and services for students with specific educational support needs (NEAE).<\/p>\n
This course was taught by Fernando Latorre Dena, Director of the Secretariat of the Accessibility and Diversity area of the University of Zaragoza, who shared the guidelines, organizational issues, material and human resources that his service has been implementing for years in the care of students with SEN, all exemplified with the experiences obtained in that field.<\/p>\n
The three sessions of the course analyzed aspects related to regulations, adaptations, as well as the role of services for this group, teachers and tutors for students with special educational needs, in this new stage of application of the Organic Law of the University System.<\/p>\n
This meeting also included first-person accounts of the experiences of some students with specific educational support needs, who are studying different degrees at the University of La Laguna, generating assessments about the support received and analyzing proposals for improvement.<\/p>\n
One of the conclusions obtained after this training is the need for greater coordination and communication between the different agents involved in the care of this group of students, both between them and the teachers themselves, as well as the services involved in this matter.<\/p>\n
