The tenured professor Carmen In\u00e9s Ruiz de la Rosa<\/a> She took office today, June 4th, as dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism<\/a> of the University of La Laguna, in an event presided over by the rector of the academic center, Francisco Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

She will be accompanied in the deanship by Pilar P\u00e9rez G\u00f3mez, as vice-dean of Academic Organization and Equality; Jano Jim\u00e9nez Barreto, vice-dean of International Relations and Mobility; Concepci\u00f3n M\u00aa \u00c1ngeles P\u00e9rez Hern\u00e1ndez, vice-dean of Degree Accreditation; M\u00aa Luisa Arriaga Est\u00e9vez, vice-dean of Academic Design and Development; Tamara Gonz\u00e1lez Gonz\u00e1lez, vice-dean of Students and Employability; \u00c1ngel Chinea Mart\u00edn, vice-dean of Academic Support and Infrastructure; David Padr\u00f3n Marrero, vice-dean of Relations with Society, Sustainability and Research; and finally, Violeta de Vera Mart\u00edn, secretary of the center.<\/p>\n

During the inauguration ceremony, the dean expressed her gratitude for the positive attitude of the outgoing team, led by Jos\u00e9 Adri\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Rojas, who facilitated the transition to the new head of the center. Ruiz de la Rosa has two very clear objectives: to foster a sense of belonging to the center and the institution itself, and to update the catalog of degrees offered by the faculty, adapting it, she said, to the changing times and job market demands.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that student involvement is key to the faculty's future, and in fact, one of her first planned meetings was with the student delegation. The dean maintained that the faculty has much to contribute, a point echoed by the rector, who affirmed that it is the university's flagship institution, given its strong ties to the business sector, its close collaboration with professional associations, and its deep commitment to the social economy.<\/p>\n

For his part, the rector expressed his gratitude for the new team's involvement in leading the center, at a time when the incentives to participate in management are far less compelling than those to pursue a research career.
