The extraordinary session of the University Entrance Exams (PAU), which in the Canary Islands is being held from today, Wednesday, July 2nd, until Friday, July 4th, has begun with the Spanish Language and Literature II exam. As usual, this test is structured around a text from which several questions are derived, and on this occasion, the chosen author is Alexis Ravelo, from whose novel "The Last Tomb" an excerpt has been selected. This excerpt describes a situation of gender-based violence that the narrator overhears from his home, leading him to consider taking action to stop the aggression.<\/p>\n

The exam consisted of questions about specific aspects of the literary fragment, such as its text type, the typology and function of its language, and some of its expressive resources. It also included questions in which students had to develop their own reasoning about the moral dilemma presented in the text\u2014that is, why one does not act when witnessing an act of gender-based violence. Finally, it addressed questions of literary education related to the Generation of '98 and Lorca's play "The House of Bernarda Alba.".<\/p>\n

The University of La Laguna was responsible for coordinating the university entrance exams (PAU) in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The university's coordinator, Antonio Delgado N\u00fa\u00f1ez, explained that there were no significant incidents on this first day at any of the four island exam centers. This was partly because this particular session had a lower student turnout than the regular June exams, but also because the organization has extensive experience and always adheres to the same protocols and standards.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Specifically, 1,287 people have registered to take the university entrance exams (PAU) in July, 923 of them for the general phase and 364 for the specific phase only. Today's session was dedicated to the subjects common to all students, regardless of their Baccalaureate specialization: Foreign Language II, History of Spain, and History of Philosophy. The specific exams for each specialization will take place tomorrow and the day after.<\/p>\n

Provisional grades will be published online on July 11th from 10:00 AM, and from that day until July 15th at 10:00 AM, it will be possible to appeal grades. Final grades will be published on the 18th, and the deadline to request to view any of your exams will be from July 21st at 10:00 AM until July 22nd at the same time. The dates for viewing the exams will be July 24th and 25th.<\/p>\n

Those who pass this exam will be able to access the extraordinary pre-registration period, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. on August 26th until 2:00 p.m. on August 28th. The list of accepted applicants and the waiting list will be published on September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Appeals will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. on September 2nd until 2:00 p.m. on September 3rd, and registration will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on September 5th.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
