Francisco D\u00edaz Brito<\/a>; and technical staff of the council.<\/p>\nThis new meeting has made progress in defining how the future educational center could function, as well as the legal instrument to make it a reality: a collaboration agreement to create a foundation led by the Cabildo of La Palma in the political-territorial sphere and by the University of La Laguna in the training aspect, with the involvement of the different agents that are part of the project.<\/p>\n
Rodr\u00edguez emphasized the importance of having the support and collaboration of the University of La Laguna to carry out this initiative, "which will mark a turning point for the future of La Palma." He also detailed the discussions with the University of La Laguna regarding future dedicated teaching positions on the island.<\/p>\n
He also noted that this campus would have a clear focus on institutional integration, for which the participation of scientific entities with a presence on La Palma is expected: the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics (IAC), Involcan, Plocan, and the National Geographic Institute (IGN). The goal is to progressively create this university campus, which will initially offer postgraduate and master's programs, and will incorporate official undergraduate degrees in subsequent years.<\/p>\n
For his part, the rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco Garc\u00eda, defended the responsibility assumed by the entity to address this project: \u201cThe future university space reflects the vocation of our University to strengthen our presence throughout the island territory and particularly on the island of La Palma, with which we have a very broad and intense collaborative relationship.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Along these lines, the rector affirmed the commitment to move towards fully in-person instruction for nursing studies, which will be implemented gradually and completely within three years. He also indicated that work is underway on the design of two official master's degree programs: one linked to engineering for scientific observation and another in volcanology, an inter-university program in which other universities, such as the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, would participate.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
