Design has played a fundamental role in its development, serving as a tool for social transformation, fostering symbiotic relationships between science, innovation, creativity, and design, and transforming data into useful and accessible information for everyone, thus democratizing knowledge.

The information from the complete study has been selected and simplified through data visualization design, metaphors, visual thinking, and data storytelling. Furthermore, the iconography and graphic design used throughout the document have been designed with a gender perspective, aiming to create visual representations that avoid stereotypes and that represent and engage all citizens. Additionally, the BIDA logo facilitates the document's understanding and readability by serving as a graphic outline, or index, of the instruments included in the barometer.

The creative direction, design, and layout of the Archipelago's Equality and Diversity Barometer (BIDA) were led by Paula Sosa Núñez, a social designer at the Social Innovation Lab of the University of La Laguna, with the support of María de los Ángeles Pérez Rojas as assistant designer. The final visual result of BIDA is the product of collaboration between various professionals, including Vicenta Poveda Verdejo, a sociologist specializing in gender with over 20 years of experience and the researcher who led the Barometer study, and Mónica Dios Rodríguez, a social educator and director of the Social Innovation Lab at the University of La Laguna.

“This recognition highlights that design can contribute clearly, directly, and objectively to processes of social transformation, and that those of us dedicated to this profession must be responsible and continue working on new models of representation that leave no one behind,” says Paula Sosa Núñez.

The Archipelago Equality and Diversity Barometer arises within the framework of the Igual Lab initiative (Research Laboratory for the Equal Transition of the Canary Islands), thanks to a collaboration agreement between the University of La Laguna, through the Social Innovation Laboratory, and the Government of the Canary Islands.

The BIDA proposal, from the Social Innovation Laboratory of the University of La Laguna, has been awarded within the…

[15,6,10
3500,3501,1996,3502,3503,221,924,454,456,1091,3504
post-7726","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cultura","category-destacado","category-portada-ull","tag-barometro-de-igualdad-y-diversidad-del-archipielago","tag-bida","tag-diseno","tag-diseno-editorial","tag-igual-lab","tag-laboratorio-de-innovacion-social-de-la-ull","tag-laboratorio-de-innovacion-social-de-la-universidad-de-la-laguna","tag-monica-dios-rodriguez","tag-paula-sosa-nunez","tag-premio","tag-premio-seleccion-anuaria

https://www.ull.es/portal/noticias/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/10/premio-anuaria-labins-300x235.png
["GET
