The item, presented by the Vice-Rector for Students, María Rosario Hernández, was approved by acclamation of the collegiate body.

This call for applications represents a continuation of the previous year, offering a minimum of 511 places, distributed as follows: 114 at the San Agustín Residence Hall, 107 at the San Fernando Residence Hall, 110 at the Santa María Residence Hall, and 180 at the Parque de las Islas University Residence. The public fees will be considered at an upcoming meeting of the governing body and subsequently submitted to the Social Council for approval.

As always, the available places will be divided between the quota for new students, the renewal quota (which is the largest), and the quota for doctoral students or those pursuing a second degree. Vacancies will be allocated based on a scoring system that takes into account academic and economic factors, as well as distance from the student's family home.

Another document approved at today's session was the manual for evaluating faculty teaching activity, presented by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, José Manuel García Fraga, which was also endorsed by acclamation. It establishes how the institutional program Docentia will be developed, adapted to the new Organic Law of the University System, and incorporates a series of improvements and proposals.

The manual maintains the two-phase evaluation model, a contribution from the University of La Laguna that has been highly praised by other institutions and the national agency ANECA. In the first phase, faculty members receive an unfavorable, favorable, or very favorable rating. Those who achieve the latter will then enter a second phase of merit recognition to potentially obtain the "excellent faculty" rating.

Thus, these outstanding professors will have a number of advantages, such as the possibility of being eligible for the new Teaching Award within the institutional accolades granted every March 11th. Conversely, professors with negative evaluations will not be able to access single-person governing bodies or be eligible for specific teaching merit awards (known as five-year service increments), among other restrictions.

The vice-rector explained that a campaign will be carried out to improve the dissemination of this regulation, which will include the production of explanatory videos, the provision of specific online training, and the opening of a forum to address the most frequently asked questions.

The University of La Laguna held an extraordinary session of its Governing Council today, Friday, April 12th…

[6,24,10
1005,3748,547,3749
post-8416","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-destacado","category-gobierno-universitario","category-portada-ull","tag-alojamiento","tag-colegios-mayores-y-residencia-universitaria","tag-consejo-de-gobierno","tag-docentia

https://www.ull.es/portal/noticias/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/10/Cons-Gobierno-12-04-04-300x200.jpg
["GET
