The play will be performed on May 4th at the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna.<\/p>\n<p>Following the opening of the tour of &#039;The Last Verse&#039; at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna, Timaginas Teatro will bring its new production to the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna on May 4th at 8:30 pm. Written by Raquel Trujillo, directed by Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez, and with a soundtrack by Jes\u00fas Mart\u00edn Fern\u00e1ndez, the new piece from the Santa Cruz-based company will tour all the islands before moving to mainland Spain at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018&#039;The Last Verse&#039; is an unpublished text inspired by one of the most recent theories that would explain the causes of the murder of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, which go beyond his sexual condition or his political inclinations to focus on family feuds and above all, on the creation of his masterpiece, &#039;The House of Bernarda Alba&#039;.<\/p>\n<p>The cast is led by Alejandro Fuertes as Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca; Armando Jerez as Horacio Rold\u00e1n; Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez as Francisca Alba; and Luc\u00eda Jerez as Adela. The cast also includes Andreas Trujillo, Ricardo Trujillo, Marina Sol\u00eds, Javier Martos, Sandra Hern\u00e1ndez, Marc Carbonell, Daniela Jerez, Beltr\u00e1n S\u00e1nchez, and Miguel \u00c1ngel Jerez. Carmensa Rodr\u00edguez, the art director of Timaginas Teatro, is responsible for the costumes and set design. Jes\u00fas Gonz\u00e1lez Ortega and Esther M\u00e9ndez will handle the sound and lighting, adapting the film&#039;s vision for the stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018&#039;The Last Verse&#039; begins when Horacio Rold\u00e1n, the firstborn son of one of the most prominent families in the Vega of Granada, discovers the close connection between his own family and Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca&#039;s upcoming work, &#039;The House of Bernarda Alba&#039;, which forces him to defend the honor of his family, becoming the first person directly responsible for the murder of one of the greatest poets and playwrights in the history of Spain.<\/p>\n<p>With this version, which combines real and dramatized events, Timaginas Teatro aims to give the poet the dignified death he was denied and to bear witness to how his creations have ensured that the echo of his voice and pen is more alive than ever.
