Abstract

The script of El cochecito (1960) is based on a story that Azcona published in 1960, «Paralítico », where an old man wants to buy a powered mobility device to follow his physically challenged friends. Because of the numerous versions which this story had, this script text can be used not only to study a relevant moment of the Spanish film history, but also to stablish if it can be considered a literary work with its own artistic value. Thus, this work tries to explain the features taken from some of the previous Azcona’s writings which this text contains and, above all, to analyze to which point it is an oeuvre independent from the film.
