This issue, celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Filmoteca Canaria, focuses on the conservation and restoration of audiovisual material. An extensive area in which we want to draw attention to the importance of protecting the funds related to visual culture, from film and photography to comics, among others. This theme seeks to raise awareness of the importance of this type of heritage, and how its safeguarding allows us to continue building a society in which it is necessary that past, present and future walk together.

The collection of essays that follows, related to great movies from several worldwide cinematographies,
is a free approach by their authors, taking into account the differents áreas
of expertise and work they are involved - History of Art and Cinema, Philology, Theatre,
History, Musicology, Filmmaking... - and it all over a previous selection done by the author
