Among the benefits of using these tools are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish networks with other specialists and become part of a group of researchers with a similar profile.<\/li>\n<li>Publish scientific content and achieve greater dissemination, visibility and impact of scientific work.<\/li>\n<li>Access up-to-date information on a specific area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three of the most prominent are:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/academia.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Academia.edu<\/strong><\/a> It connects professors and researchers who share the same interests. Each researcher can create their profile, enrich it with their publications, and upload them to the network for viewing and download. Users of this social network can share their work in full text. It features a semantic search engine that allows users to consult databases such as PubMed, CiteSeer, arXiv, BioMed, and the NASA library.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mendeley.com\/groups\/7061311\/universidad-de-la-laguna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mendeley<\/strong><\/a> It is both a social network and a bibliographic reference manager. This allows researchers to organize their work while collaborating with other scientists and staying up-to-date on the latest publications in their field.
