Action oriented with and for the community to promote the transfer of social innovation in the implementation of more sustainable and participatory urban planning.<\/h1>The Birmagen-A\u00f1aza Eco-axis is a pilot project that provides a model for implementing sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) in urban and rural areas. It is based on cross-sectoral collaboration between public and private actors, with a high degree of participation and commitment from civil society, in pursuit of greater sovereignty and autonomy for the island. The Eco-axis's main objective is to regulate urban development in the areas it defines from a holistic bioclimatic perspective. The area chosen for its implementation has potential agricultural, livestock, water, energy, and social development resources. The general objectives of this AdB project are: (1) To promote the implementation of more sustainable and participatory urban planning oriented towards the community in the area defined by the Eco-axis; (2) To encourage the various stakeholders involved in the Eco-axis (citizens, Island Council, City Councils, etc.) to discuss the issues involved and participate, from the outset, in the decision-making process through interactive and participatory concepts and methodologies that generate public interest in the project and responsible research in applied sustainability; (3) To collaborate in promoting cross-cutting collaboration among the public institutions involved in the Eco-axis project. Through the development, implementation, and application of diverse participatory and collective decision-making methodologies, it is expected that concrete tools, working instruments, and interpersonal structures will be developed to effectively transfer them as an efficient organizational instrument.
