Development and marketing of neuronutraceuticals specifically for menopause<\/h1>During menopause, the decline and cessation of estrogen production cause changes that result in various symptoms such as cognitive decline, depression, and anxiety. Treatment for depression depends on the severity of the illness and is usually treated with antidepressant medications, psychosocial therapy, or a combination of both, although only approximately 50% of patients experience a positive response. The research group 'Cell Signaling in Neurodegenerative Diseases' has demonstrated over the last ten years that some of the risks of cognitive decline are due not only to estrogen loss but also to the progressive loss of polyunsaturated fatty acids essential for the brain. Therefore, the use of specific nutraceuticals aimed at improving symptoms associated with depression and anxiety could be of great interest at this stage of life. Nutraceuticals (from the combination of "nutrition" and "pharmaceutical") are natural substances found in food that contribute to promoting or improving our health, including brain health. Our project is a clinical study proposal for novel neuronutraceuticals to validate their beneficial effects in perimenopausal women. Our goal is to develop a commercial line of neuronutraceutical products for menopausal women and create a spin-off company.
