The Human Resources Department is a horizontal organizational unit of this University. The Human Resources Department, under the authority of the Director-Coordinator of the Human Resources, Internal Regulations, Training and Quality Area, is responsible for processing all matters affecting the employees of this University, both Administration and Services staff as well as teaching and Research staff, whether they are civil servants or contract workers, from the moment of the selection processes prior to incorporation, until the termination of the service relationship.

Services offered to the user
- Process the dismissals of civil servants and terminations of employment contracts of the staff of the University of La Laguna.
- To participate in negotiation meetings when their presence is required.
- Processing the Public Employment Offer, the registration of acts in the Register of personnel of the teaching bodies and the files of change of administrative situations.
- Process applications and appeals (formerly also prior claims).
- Processing of staff absences (vacations, breaks, permits and licenses).
- Formalization of employment contracts for staff, and appointments and assumption of duties for civil servants. Involvement in the processing of all administrative or similar situations that may correspond to employees throughout their professional life, including career development, systems for access to the University as an employee, provision of job positions, and job classification systems.
- Processing and payment of payroll for all employees.
- Formalization of Social Security registration acts (affiliation, registrations, cancellations, changes in data, contributions)
