Mechanical Service

The Mechanical Department is staffed by personnel with experience in the mechanical manufacturing sector. Its main activity focuses on the development and manufacture of prototypes and mechanical parts, as well as the modification or repair of components, using techniques such as CNC machining.

The service offering includes:

• 3D CAD design.
• Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining.
• Machining on a conventional parallel lathe.
• MIG/MAG wire welding.
• 3D printing with FDM technology.

Applications

The Mechanical Service can provide technological support to any project or scientific research that requires the development of mechanical prototypes for the fulfillment or verification of its objectives.

With its existing infrastructure, the Mechanical Services department offers services in various sectors, including metalworking, construction, chemicals, food processing, and energy, among others. These services encompass machine tool machining, component assembly and disassembly, and the fabrication of metal structures and welding. The department also provides services in the design and digital manufacturing sectors, offering CAD modeling and 3D printing of parts and prototypes.

• BQ HEPHESTOS 2 FDM 3D Printer (currently out of service)
