Forensic Criminalistics Support Service

Criminalistics is defined as a branch of criminal law dedicated to the identification, analysis, and verification of criminal acts. Its methods and procedures are based on the application of knowledge from various scientific disciplines, with the aim of establishing the legal truth in relation to crimes.

In this context, the Forensic Criminalistics Support Service (SACF) has as its main goal the creation of a collaborative platform among the various services that comprise SEGAI. Its mission is to respond quickly and effectively to the numerous concerns and needs that arise in the field of expert activities. Thanks to the impressive technical diversity and high level of technology that characterize SEGAI, expert activities can be approached from multiple perspectives of knowledge, allowing it to offer an excellent service in the Canary Islands, unique in the autonomous community, focused on clarifying potential fraudulent activities and contributing to truth and justice.

Detection of contaminants, as well as fraud in food and cosmetic products.
Voice analysis for the identification of individuals in recordings.
Analysis of elemental composition in samples of soils, ceramics and metals.
Study of fibers and surfaces.
Comparison of scratches and forced impacts, as well as the identification of plastics and paints.
Verification of the presence of lead in paints for industrial or consumer products.
Detection of hidden signatures and patterns in works and documents.
