Electronics Service

The Electronics Service is an instrumental maintenance laboratory created for the repair of equipment and the design and development of electronic prototypes.

The service offering includes:

  • Repair of electronic equipment (excluding computer equipment)
  • Design and development of electronic prototypes
  • Development of visualization and control software for electronic equipment
  • Consulting on electronic issues
  • Loan of electronics laboratory equipment
  • Technical support for simultaneous translation activities 
  • Public address and audiovisual equipment rental

Applications

Both the infrastructure and the knowledge of the technical staff of the Electronics Service are applicable in different scientific fields where electronics intervenes in some of the phases of the development of research projects.
The main applications are aimed at the visualization, acquisition, storage of data and control of electronic equipment, through the development of appropriate software or by designing electronic prototypes.

The equipment and technical support offered in relation to simultaneous translation, public address and audiovisuals are applicable to the organization of events for scientific dissemination or outreach or any other nature.

Equipment:

  • LPKF Protomat S62 mechanical milling printed circuit board manufacturing equipment with a resolution of 0.25 microns and automatic tool changer (allowing it to achieve high degrees of precision even in circuits for RF and microwaves).
  • Mega Rota Spray RS1210 chemical etching printed circuit board manufacturing equipment.
  • LPKF ProtoPlaceS semi-automatic SMD (Surface Mount Device) component positioning and dispensing system with vision camera, mechanical carousel component dispenser and air intake for vacuum pump.
  • SMD component soldering and desoldering system including BGA (Ball Grid Array) components Ersa PL550A.
  • LPKF MiniContactRS drill metallization system for metallizing drill holes in printed circuit boards with diameters from 0.3 mm using Reverse Pulse Plating technology that guarantees homogeneous metallization across the entire surface of the hole.
