The mobility of outgoing and incoming students in the Department of Geography and History is subject to the exchange programs subscribed to by the University of La Laguna. Within this general framework, our Department has been signing agreements with other departments at Spanish and European universities, as established by the SICUE-SÉNECA and LLP-ERASMUS programs.

To assist students interested in these programs, the Section has established the position of General Coordinator for exchange programs and three coordinators, one for each degree program. The Section's Mobility Coordinator is responsible for promoting and publicizing these programs within the Center, encouraging students to suggest host institutions that meet their educational aspirations, and thus fostering the signing of new agreements.

Another of their tasks is to provide the information and guidance required by outgoing and incoming students, both academic in nature and those required by students on mobility.

The Mobility Coordinator for the Section provides systematic mentoring to incoming and outgoing students, receives and processes documentation, directs students to the relevant program coordinators, and regularly organizes informational meetings. They also meet with exchange professors and establish selection criteria with the University's Institutional Coordinator, in accordance with current regulations.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that the History Department's participation in the SOCRATES-ERASMUS agreements began in the early 1980s, before they became widespread. Through these agreements, professors and students have been received at both the undergraduate and doctoral levels. Similarly, professors and students have been sent to various European universities.
