University Studies for Adults and Seniors

Functions

The academic management of University Studies for Adults and Older Adults is responsible for managing the different programs it currently has and those that may exist in the future.

In 1999, the University of La Laguna launched the University for Seniors, the University Studies for Adults and Older Adults, with the aim of implementing an educational project for this population group, framed within the new paradigm of lifelong learning. This project not only aimed to improve the knowledge of older adults but also their quality of life at all levels. Since then, it has grown in terms of projects, student enrollment, and social impact.

University Studies for Adults and Older Adults are aimed at older adults, from the age of 45, without the need to prove previous studies, who are interested in carrying out some of the programs or activities that are carried out at the University, at university headquarters, at municipal university centers and at other places that may be agreed.

It is a dynamic and lively project that, in addition to the own degrees in the form of diplomas present in Tenerife and the complementary activities in different municipalities of the Islands, has a space from which we prepare new programs and activities adapting to the demands of our students and the strategic lines of continuing education aimed at older adults from the University.
