Microsoft Teams is Microsoft's primary communications tool for chatting, making calls, and video conferencing. Teams allows you to host online meetings, audio conferences, virtual events, or video conferences with screen sharing, camera sharing, and audio sharing, add custom backgrounds, and record online sessions. This tool allows you to create specific channels for direct or group communication. Additionally, within Teams, there are other applications that can be used from this environment, such as Planner, Stream, Whiteboard, and other Microsoft applications. The free version of Microsoft Teams includes group calls of up to 60 minutes and 100 participants, unlimited chat, 5GB of storage, and data encryption. This application can be used online by accessing the Microsoft Office 365 portal or downloaded to your device.
Example
A teacher requests that the communication and presentation of the various student projects be materialized in a video. Following instructions, the teacher asks students from the entire group to participate in the creation of this video and to show the shared main presentation. To this end, the teacher recommends recording a Teams session to present the project and then submitting the resulting video to the virtual classroom.
A professor uses Microsoft Teams to promote group dynamics in an online degree program she teaches. She creates various online work rooms and sessions for the different groups via Teams. The professor visits the various online rooms to answer any questions students may have and provide guidance on completing the proposed activity.
