Pear Deck

Category: Activities and evaluationContent creation

Description:
Pear Deck is a Google Slides add-on (also available for Microsoft PowerPoint) that allows you to add interactivity to your existing presentations or create presentations from scratch.

Pear Deck is useful both for creating presentations with which students can interact through a variety of questions—free response, multiple choice, drag-and-drop matching, or drawing—or for viewing web pages embedded directly in them. It can also be used to create vocabulary flashcards with students or practice writing sentences, thanks to Vocabulary Factory.

Example:
The teacher can prepare a presentation of the content to be covered for students to view independently at home. Activities can be interspersed throughout this presentation to monitor comprehension, thereby identifying any content that has not been fully understood and thus reinforcing it in a subsequent in-person session.

Another teacher can present this resource for students to use. They can create presentations that other groups of students in the same classroom can then respond to and interact with. This way, they can encourage students to learn all the topics and review their classmates' material.
