Slack

Category: Communication and follow-up.

Description:
Slack is a messaging app designed to organize workgroups, combining communication and collaboration in one place, increasing productivity at work.

Slack allows you to communicate with your team and organize conversations by topic, project, or anything else that matters; send a message or make a call to any person or group; share and edit documents and collaborate, all from within Slack; integrate tools and services you may already be using, such as Google Drive, Salesforce, Dropbox, Asana, Twitter, Zendesk, and more; easily search a knowledge base that automatically indexes and archives conversations and files; and customize notifications so you can focus on what really matters.

Example:
A group of students uses Slack because it allows them to create a workgroup and check off items on a to-do list. This tool helps class work progress, bringing together students, conversations, tools, and information they need in one place.

In a research project, an official tool is needed to create communication and centralize all the information from the various studies. A group of professors proposes this tool to collaborate in an open channel to achieve the agreed objectives.
