Over the last few decades, the research groups that make up the programme have maintained close collaborations with national and international centres in the field of Biodiversity and Conservation, which have had a direct and positive impact on postgraduate studies, especially on the master's degrees currently taught in the Biology Section, Faculty of Sciences, of the ULL: Terrestrial Biodiversity and Conservation in Islands and Marine Biology: Biodiversity and ConservationThe strategic position of the Canary Islands as a bridge between continents, as well as the interaction and collaboration of the programme's professors/researchers with external research centres, has favoured these professional ties, which is reflected in the programme's interest in students from other Spanish and foreign universities, mainly European and American, and in the increase in the number of international stays of doctoral students as well as in the number of theses with International Mention defended in recent years.
In addition, the participation of invited national and foreign external professors to give seminars and workshops or to collaborate on research projects has increased. These collaborations are directly related to the doctoral research lines and teams, promoting the mobility of doctoral students and researchers.
Currently, the PhD in Biodiversity and Conservation has current agreements for scientific-technical collaboration and for postgraduate and doctoral studies in the research fields of the program, with the Institute of Natural Products and Agrobiology (IPNA – CSIC), with the Canary Islands Institute of Agricultural Research (ICIA), as well as with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO). In addition to these agreed collaborations, the research groups participating in the program maintain active, non-agreed collaborations with other national and international reference centers. Some of these collaborations are:
