Mobility

All parties involved in the training of doctoral students agree on the benefits of internships at other centers, which can also lead to the award of an International Mention for their doctoral thesis and the doctoral degree. For this reason, the ULL establishes a grant program for internships at other centers associated with the development of their doctoral thesis, and the Doctoral School encourages students to do so. This is an annual call for applications, the regulations for which can be found at the following website.

The purpose of the stay varies, but in general, the goal is for students to obtain training complementary to their studies, learn new techniques related to their research topic, establish references, and/or join prestigious research groups by collaborating on projects related to their research topic.

The procedure that regulates how to carry out the procedures related to the request for the ULL International Mention can be found hereA minimum stay of three months at a foreign research center is required, as grants for stays are generally awarded for this duration per year of the thesis. This is sufficient time to achieve the objectives of an international mention. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible for these grants.

These stays are optional, during the second or third year of the doctoral period, as they depend on the award of the grant, which is competitive. A report must be prepared in which the activity to be carried out is recorded and, upon completion, a report signed by a researcher responsible for the receiving centre must be provided, which in turn is reviewed by a scientific committee at the original centre, guaranteeing control of the activity.

The academic and research relationships that this Doctorate has with foreign institutions are included in the Title description (Participating entities) on this website, which may be considered as possible hosting centers for doctoral students for these stays.
