Official Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees are subject to an evaluation model divided into three phases that make up their life cycle (VSMA cycle): ex ante (Verification), during (Monitoring and Modification), and ex post (Accreditation renewal). This process of evaluation, review, and improvement is carried out to guarantee the quality of the degrees and ensure compliance with the requirements and criteria established within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
The model is included in the Organic Law 2/2023, of the University System (LOSU) and in the Royal Decrees of organization of university teachings: fundamentally the RD 822/2021, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality; RD 99/2011, which regulates official doctoral studies and the RD 640/2021, for the creation, recognition and authorization of universities and university centers, and institutional accreditation of university centers.

In line with national guidelines (RD 861/2010), the Canary Islands Agency for University Quality and Educational Evaluation (ACCUEE) has established the Monitoring Protocol that official degrees in the Canary Islands must follow. This protocol focuses primarily on the information that universities must publish and update, as well as the importance of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) and the mechanisms designed to monitor these degrees and ensure their subsequent accreditation.
The Doctoral Program in Nautical, Marine and Naval Radioelectronic Engineering will undergo the accreditation renewal process before the end of the sixth year from the verification date of the title or from the date of its last accreditation.
