Expert Diploma in Family Therapy. Basic Course

The family therapy paradigm is a scientific approach that has been developed for more than 60 years in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, social work, and pedagogy, and which provides a relational perspective in various intervention contexts, whether clinical, educational, or social. The term "family therapy" was coined to designate the therapeutic modality that works with the family as the unit of treatment, focusing the intervention on relationships and context, rather than exclusively on treating the person affected by a disorder or who expresses a dysfunction, what until now we have called the Identified Patient. In Spain, this training has been offered for more than 30 years in non-university training settings. To date, the Spanish Federation of Family Therapy Associations has accredited this training; university students, with a few exceptions, are deprived of this experience. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the ULL will offer the second edition of the "Expert in Family Therapy. Basic Course."
