Access and admission

Access

According to the agreement 6.a) of 22-02-20204 of the Governing Council of the University of La Laguna by which The Regulations for Specific Teachings of the University of La Laguna are approved.

To access the Postgraduate Degrees (Master's Degree in Continuing Education, Specialization Diploma and Expert Diploma) it will be necessary:

  1. Hold an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution belonging to another Member State of the European Higher Education Area, which qualifies the applicant for access to master's degrees.
  2. Possessing a degree issued by an educational system outside the European Higher Education Area without a recognition resolution or declaration of equivalence. In these cases, the academic administration will submit a preliminary report to the Academic Committee, which will authorize or deny admission. Under no circumstances will this authorization imply recognition of the foreign degree or its recognition for purposes other than pursuing postgraduate studies at the ULL.

Admission and scale

Admission will take place in three phases:

Phase 1. Request for access and opening of the recognition file 

Phase 2. Recognition of training

Phase 3. Admission and registration for the Final Degree Project

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Professional practice: Be an active teacher at the ULL at the time of application.
  2. Have obtained the following two degrees issued by the University of La Laguna:
    1. Diploma of Expert in Training for University Teaching (FDU-ULL) or, failing that, the University Expert in University Teaching (EDU-ULL).
    2. Expert Diploma in Digital Competencies for Teaching (FCD-ULL).
  3. Pass the recognition phase of continuing education
    1. Accredit between 9 and 18 ECTS (depending on the diploma completed) through the recognition of the training activities in university teaching carried out after obtaining the diplomas mentioned in section 4.2b.), except for the courses of the Training Plan for Teaching and Research Staff at the ULL, for which courses completed in the last 10 years may be submitted.
    2. Training activities must meet the criteria established in this implementation report for the continuing training qualification.

RECOGNITION FOR CONTINUOUS EDUCATION:

They will be recognized teacher training courses taking into account the following criteria:

1. Recognizable course typology

  • Courses offered by:
    • University of La Laguna (ULL) – Training Plan for Teaching and Research Staff.
    • Prestigious institutions with accredited university teaching programs (ANECA, CRUE, INTEF, etc.).
  • Generic non-university training courses or courses not related to higher education will not be accepted.

2. Contents aligned with the master's framework

The course must be linked to one of the following competencies:

  • Curriculum design and teaching planning.
  • Innovation and active methodologies.
  • Assessment of learning in higher education.
  • Digital teaching skills (level B or higher according to the Framework of Reference for Digital Teaching Competence).
  • Inclusive education and attention to diversity.
  • Tutoring, mentoring and support for students.
  • Equality, sustainability, and ethics in university teaching.
  • University quality
  • Artificial Intelligence (of a mandatory nature)

3. Learning assessment

  • The course must include some type of learning assessment (final project, questionnaire, portfolio, etc.).
  • A grade will be required. The certificate is not recognized with achievement or attendance. 

4. Period of validity

Only courses completed after obtaining the first Expert Diploma (FDU-ULL/EDU-ULL or FCD-ULL) can be recognized.

5. Duration and equivalence

Each training course must specify its teaching load in hours.

6. Documentation required for recognition

  • Official certificate of completion, indicating the hours and grade.
  • Complete course program (contents, methodology, evaluation) (except if it is an activity of the Training Plan for Teaching and Research Staff at ULL).

7. Recognition procedure

It will meet once a year to resolve cases.

The Academic Committee of the Master's Degree sIt will be the body responsible for assessing applications for recognition.

It will evaluate the suitability of each course to the established criteria.
