Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Coastal Engineering

Access and admission

Admission and scale

Admission Students who meet the admission requirements established in the previous section may apply for admission to the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Coastal Engineering. As there is a limited number of places, admission will be subject to a selection process based on the assessment of the candidates' merits. This assessment will be based on the criteria set out in the following section. Once the applicant's documentation has been reviewed, the Academic Committee of the Master's Degree will conduct a preliminary selection and issue a shortlist of candidates based on the number of places available. The Academic Committee of the Master's Degree will subsequently grant final admission if the administrative requirements for registration are met. Selection criteria The Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Coastal Engineering is specifically aimed at engineers with a specialty in maritime engineering: Master's degrees in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering graduates, Public Works Engineers, or equivalent foreign qualifications. It is also open to other Spanish or foreign engineering graduates who can demonstrate basic prior training related to the sea, maritime and coastal engineering, marine energy, or the core subjects included in the Master's program, as well as graduates in Marine Sciences or equivalent foreign qualifications, provided they meet one of the requirements a), b), or c) above. Although the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Coastal Engineering provides in-depth and specialized training, it does not grant professional qualifications. Therefore, those wishing to pursue a professional career in Port and Coastal Engineering must have acquired these qualifications through one of the qualifying degrees, such as the Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, or the former Technical Engineering of Public Works studies. Admission to studies leading to the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Coastal Engineering will be conditioned by a selection process based on the assessment of the candidate's merits.
