Admission profile

The admission profile is the knowledge, skills and abilities of the students who access the degree.

The Master's Degree is aimed especially at people who are interested in the cultural manifestations of societies throughout history and in the present. In general, the Master's Degree is aimed at graduates and diploma holders, both Spanish and foreign, from any branch of knowledge; priority will be given to graduates and diploma holders in Humanities, History, Law, Political Science, Philosophy, Philology, Sociology, Anthropology, History of Art, Information Sciences, Social Work.

As for the skills considered desirable for taking the master's degree, there are no special requirements, beyond those usual for any university-type study: reading ability, a willingness to analyse, summarise and write, and above all an interest in criticism and knowledge.

The Master's degree will also allow access to graduates who meet the requirements of Article 16 of RD 1393/2007 and who also have the required B1 level of English.

The graduate profile is the skills, knowledge and abilities that the student must have acquired upon completion of the degree. This information is included in the section on competencies/learning outcomes defined for the title.

The graduate of this master's degree will therefore be a graduate with specialized and advanced training with professional capacity and qualification.

The Master's Degree in Religious Sciences: History and Society provides specialization in the following areas:

  • Theoretical and practical research on religions and religious-cultural heritage (doctoral programs in History, State Ecclesiastical Law, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Sciences, etc.).
  • Design and management of public policies for the management of religious diversity.
  • Training for teaching professionals at all levels (primary, secondary, high school and university studies) who teach specific subjects or content related to religions.
  • Development of educational materials for teaching religions at all educational levels.
  • Scientific consultancy to public or private institutions on interreligious dialogue.
