Art and the Ecological Connection. The Space of Art and Nature “La Font del Molí”

Abstract

In the artistic creation of our time, it may be necessary to search for meaning in its connection to ecology. Nature can acquire spiritual connotations in awakening the connection to oneself, self-knowledge in relation to the whole, from a holistic view of reality. In Western culture, reason has acquired a leading role to the detriment of intuitive or symbolic knowledge, establishing an unfortunate division between subject and object. This perception has led to an attitude of domination and destruction of our environment which also ultimately assaults the human being. A significant part of the work of Joan Llobell and some of the art projects created as the Space of Art and Nature “La Font del Molí” are included in this line of research.
