Inking and stamping aluminum sheets

Abstract

The present article analyzes the variables that take part in artistic stamping of aluminum lithograph sheets [Grano 220]. Starting from the delicate stabilization of the image in this material so that an adequate transfer of ink is produced, it is necessary to keep in mind various factors like rollers, pressure, environmental factors, an efficient inking methodology, the ink and the paper, among others. Also studied is the response of this type of sheet to stamping in printing presses, and the reasons behind the most frequent problems are examined. The intention is to offer a developed vision of everything that takes place in the moment of inking in a metallic lithographic matrix and how to benefit a quality transfer for the aesthetic enhancement of the stamp.
