Llamamiento para contribuciones - Cuadernos del CEMYR 34 (2026)
The Editorial Team of Cuadernos del CEMYR reports that call for papers for the journal’s next issue (34, 2026) is already open. This issue’s monograph is devoted to the topic From Free Will to Obligation. The Mobility of People in Small Border Towns in Medieval Portugal and Castille: Newcomers, Royal Officers and Workers, coordinated by professors Gonçalo Melo da Silva IEM/Universidade Nova de Lisboa-FCSH, Portugal) and Adelaide Millán da Costa (Universidade Aberta, Portugal).
Any manuscript related to the above-mentioned subject is welcome for publication. Original and unpublished contributions on the diverse disciplines related to Medieval and Renaissance Studies (History, History of the Art, Archeology, Literature, Linguistics, Philosophy, etc.) are welcome for the journal’s sections Articles (miscellany) and Book reviews.
Articles and book reviews should be submitted in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian. The extension of the articles should not exceed 75,000 characters (about 12.000 words in Times New Roman point 12), including tables, figures, notes and final references. Reviews should be limited to 18,000 characters (about 2500 words in Times New Roman point 12). Author Guidelines can be consulted here.
Original manuscripts shall be submitted to the journal's platform, through the Submissions section, where it will be necessary to Log in or Register, if this has not been done on previous occasions, and complete the data requested in the process of sending the article or review. Registration and login are required to submit papers online and to check the status of submissions. Contributions compliant with the journal’s policy will be subject to a double-blind peer review. Cuadernos del CEMYR is an academic journal yearly edited by the Medieval and Renaissance Studies University Institute (Spanish acronym, IEMYR) at the Universidad de La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain). The present Institute had its origins back in 1991 when the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (CEMYR) was created and later, in 2008, acknowledged as a research institute. The first number of the journal appeared in 1993 and has since then been published without interruptions preserving its foundation name.
Cuadernos del CEMYR is indexed in Elsevier Scopus, Index Islamicus, MLA - Modern Language Association Database, Dulcinea, Sherpa/Romeo y DIALNET. It is evaluated by CARHUS Plus+ 2018 and LATINDEX. Catálogo v2.0.
The articles published in Cuadernos del CEMYR are distributed through the website of the Publications Service of the University of La Laguna and are freely accessible under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
