Tourism has been promoted as a driver of development, generating employment, cultural integration, and local economic expansion. However, beneath this façade of progress, structures persist that reproduce and deepen historical and contemporary inequalities. Gender disparities stand out as one of the main challenges facing this globalized industry. This monograph, Feminist Analyses of Tourism: Reflections from the Global South, aims to examine these dynamics from a critical, feminist, and intersectional perspective. With a focus situated in the Global South, the works gathered here question the ways tourism affects women and also highlight their creative responses, struggles of resistance, and the possibilities for transformation that emerge from some of the affected communities.
