Abstract

In this article we focus on the analysis of Luis Cernuda’s ability to turn his unsatisfied desires into a source of poetic inspiration. Taking as starting point the singularity of the poet´s personality, we mean to demonstrate how he was able to sublimate his most intimate desires and express them in his verses through a poetics of the experience. In the present collaboration, we trace the poetic biography of Luis Cernuda, understood as a experiential itinerary and as a sentimental extroversion through the poetic word purged and tested to the extreme. This itinerary culminates in the stage of maturity of the poet through the praxis of the poetics of meditation –a refuge in which he seeks consolation and reparation for the many troubles that life gave him– and through which he tries to immerse his soul in the relish for the divine joys.
