El Dialogus de Pedro Alfonso
Abstract
Petrus Alfonsi spanish converso, physician, polemicist and author possibly born in Huesca. Known as Mose Sefardí before his conversion at the age of 44 (1106), he assumed the new name of Pedro Alfonso. This paper is particulary about his work the Dialogus, a polemical treatise which he wrote to defend his conversion. We analyse the circumstances, the content and the arguments utilized by the author of the dialogues into the classic apologetics of Middle Age.
