Oda conmemorativa In Piratiningam
Abstract
On January 25th, 1554, the then Brother José de Anchieta with the Jesuit mates founded the town of São Paulo de Piratininga (Brazil). Lately, in 1954, the Jesuit Father Oricchio published a neo-latin poem in Verbum magazine to commemorate its fourth Centenary. Now the author of this article translates, reprints and comments the poem on occasion of the 450th anniversary of the City of São Paulo.
