Bede, Historia Ecclesiastica V XII 1-8, in a Manuscript at the University of Barcelona
Abstract
Among the one hundred and sixty manuscripts of Bede’s Historia Ecclesiastica listed by Mynors in his edition there is only one preserved in a Spanish library. However, a miscellaneous manuscript preserved in the Library at the University of Barcelona also contains an excerpt from the above mentioned Bede’s work, the story of Drichtelm (V XII 1-8). The text of this hitherto unknown witness seems to belong to the μ recension.
