The work of Jaime Rosales: dialogues with Yasujiro Ozu
Abstract
Rosales is one of the most personal filmmakers on the Spanish panorama, with a filmography as varied as remarkable. His peculiar work behind the camera, besides a deep investigation work searching new cinematography forms (and narratives) is the result of the influence of other cinemas. The following article tries to approach his work through dialogue that it has with the Japanese filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu, with the intention of shedding light on it.
