Edward Hopper’s long shadow on the screen
Abstract
In this report we provide some keys to understand the work of Edward Hopper. The dialogue between painting and cinema is specially significant in this American painter. He was a cinephile, and this is reflected in his work. Similarly, his paintings notably influence cinema: it is a trace which can be followed throughout the years so far. Directors as Todd Haynes, Alfred Hitchcock, Dunia Ayaso and Félix Sabroso, or Matthew Weiner are examples of this legacy.
