Abstract

The relation between cinema and fashion is as old as the cinema birth. However, this topic has not been sufficiently studied by the Spanish bibliography. In this paper, which starts with a short introduction about the main fashion theories, we want to show to the reader a comprehensive vision about this particular relation, since the beginning in the 1910s, through the Jazz Era, finishing at the glamorous Hollywood golden age, in the 1930s. Due to we don’t have space enough in this journal and, on the other hand it is a complex and deep topic too, we have decided to finish in this period of time although we are looking forward to analyzing the following decades in a forthcoming paper.
