Abstract

Quo Vadis? has become one of the most usual religious films ever filmed. However, in as much as films also content in themselves images in action, Quo Vadis? offers a good chance to revisit their texts and images from another point of view, nor historical, neither religious or aesthetic, but political. And so, Nero the Emperor must be seen as a predecessor of Stalin and some peculiarities of the struggle between Rome and Chistianity, as a symbol of the Cold War.
