University Archive

The University Archive comprises all documents of any nature, period, and physical format, generated, collected, or preserved by the University of La Laguna, as well as any documents that may be donated or acquired and whose location in the archive is determined. As a service supporting study, teaching, and research, its functions include collecting, organizing, safeguarding, and preserving documentation arising from academic, scientific, and administrative activities, as well as facilitating access to it, with the guarantees established by current legislation. The University Archive began operating under the auspices of the University's General Secretariat in mid-2005. Its holdings cover a period from 1817 to the present. In addition to the historical and administrative records of the University itself, it also holds those of the Tenerife Normal School, the School of Commerce, and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife School of Navigation. Among others, it offers the following services: Consultation, Loan for exhibitions, Internal loan to offices, Document transfer, Identification and valuation of documentary series, Purging and certified elimination.
