Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the calls for applications published and how can I consult them?

On the main page of the University of La Laguna, clicking on “The University” opens a drop-down menu; choose “Call for Proposals Portal”, “Scholarships and grants”You will find all the calls for applications published by the various services of the University of La Laguna. Filtering by “Healthcare”, you will find those that are managed in the Assistance Services Office.

Who can apply for welfare assistance?

Students enrolled in official studies at the University of La Laguna who meet the requirements established in each call for applications may apply for the aid.

Can I apply for multiple grants?

The compatibility between grants will depend on the specific terms of each call for applications. Generally, they are compatible as long as their purpose is different; therefore, grants and scholarships intended for the same purpose will be incompatible.

Are welfare benefits compatible with the Ministry's scholarship?

Yes, provided the purpose is different. For example, if the Ministry only covered transportation and not registration fees, there would be no conflict of interest. However, if the purpose were the same, you would have to choose one of the two.

Where are the applications submitted?

Each call for proposals must specify the method of submission.

Applications are generally submitted through the Services Portal, located on the University of La Laguna's homepage. Select "Students," and you will be prompted for your username and password. From the menu, choose "My Welfare Benefits," and under "Self-Applications," you can select the type of benefit and submit your application.

There are some exceptions where the application and documentation are submitted directly to the Electronic Office of the University of La Laguna.

What should I do if I have technical problems with the online portal?

Once the provisional lists of admitted and excluded applicants are published, a correction period will be opened to complete the documentation not provided.

What documentation is usually required?

The general documentation usually includes a certificate of cohabitation, income of all cohabitants, academic certification if the previous course was not completed at the ULL, and additional documentation that the applicant deems necessary to justify their application.

Can I submit documents after the deadline?

No. Applications and documentation must be submitted within the deadlines established in each call or instruction, and in subsequent publications of provisional lists and resolutions.

Where are the resolutions published?

The provisional lists and final resolutions are published on the website of the University of La Laguna, within each call for applications, in the Calls Portal.

What happens if my application is denied?

During the correction period, you may submit a claim and provide any documentation you deem appropriate; the provisional lists include the reason for refusal.

Allegations or claims will be submitted in the same procedure of “Submission of documentation for its annex to the application for aid …“, or electronic procedure established for each specific call.

Regarding the final decisions, the reason for denial and the deadline and type of appeal that can be filed are indicated.

Appeals must be submitted through a "General Application" on the electronic portal, indicating the resolution and type of aid being appealed, the reasons, and providing any documentation deemed appropriate.

How can I submit an appeal?

The claims must be submitted within the period established in the call for applications through the procedures enabled by the University.

Can I apply for financial aid if I am studying for a master's or doctorate degree?

Yes, provided that the call for applications expressly includes official postgraduate studies.

Do the grants cover the full amount of the expenses?

Not necessarily. Most grants have maximum limits; as long as these limits are not exceeded, for example, in undergraduate tuition grants, the full tuition fee will be received, except for school insurance and the file opening fee, which is always the responsibility of the enrolled person.

How are applications evaluated?

Applications are assessed according to the general criteria established in the regulatory framework and according to the specific criteria of each call for applications.
