This lesson will explore the significant contributions of clinical psychology to mental health care, particularly in relation to the agendas of various institutions for the 21st century. It will begin by discussing the development of the clinical psychology curriculum, followed by a discussion of the current conception of mental health, based on a dual model that aims to eliminate psychopathological symptoms and promote well-being. The lessons will then analyze psychology's contributions to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health issues, relating these contributions to the specific agendas of the WHO, the Spanish government, and the Canary Islands government. Finally, they will discuss the conceptual contributions of clinical psychology to the development of knowledge.
