How can we improve our University?

Participatory budgeting is a tool of participatory, direct and deliberative democracy, through which citizens exercise their right to participate in the design, decision, execution and monitoring of public policies from their involvement in the preparation of the budget.

This initiative, now in its third year, aims to promote and facilitate the inclusive and open participation of all members of the university community in the planning and subsequent management of the budget, as well as to directly involve the university community in the decision on the allocation of a portion of the institution's budget.

In order to improve our University together, the aim is for the university community to directly allocate a budget.

It has a credit of 345.000 €.

GOALS

  • Involving her in the management of matters affecting the University allows her to gain a greater understanding of the scope of budget management.
  • To encourage members of the university community to interpret and critically evaluate the budgetary measures adopted by their governing bodies.
  • Increase the transparency of the management of university governing bodies.
  • Leveraging the knowledge of the people who make up the university community to improve university governance.
  • Promote democratization in decision-making.
