The project aims to develop various initiatives to bring students out of the classroom while simultaneously attracting the community to the University of La Laguna (ULL). The plan involves the renovation, care, and maintenance of ULL green spaces, specifically those dedicated to collaborative projects, talks, and workshops, such as the Garoé garden. This space has been actively used for community projects for years and is open to students from all faculties and the general public, serving as a meeting point between academia and civil society. We seek to promote the safe use of this green space dedicated to collaborative work within the university community, making its repair, maintenance, and care essential, with particular emphasis on the renovation of the drainage basin. The proposal aims to utilize ULL's outdoor spaces to generate synergies and foster knowledge building through experience and interdisciplinary collaborative work. In this regard, the project focuses on two key areas. 1) On the one hand, we aim to highlight alternative, more horizontal methods of disseminating and presenting research results, beyond scientific journals and conferences, promoting forms of knowledge transfer and outreach that we believe are essential today. We seek to create shared spaces for collaboration and enrichment of both academic and civic experience, with a particular focus on proposals centered on intangible heritage and environmental sustainability. 2) On the other hand, we advocate for opening the University's common spaces to the public, with a special interest in single-mother families, promoting discussions on the agroecological transition and the development of urban gardens.
