Breve currículo profesional genérico:	Current position: “Científico Titular de OPI” researcher at the IAC Previous positions and activities: • 1996-2000: PhD research student at IAC • 2001-2003: Post-doc position at the IAC as Teide Observatory Support Astronomer • 2003-2007: Post-doc position at GRANTECAN as GTC Support Astronomer • 2007-2012: Ramón y Cajal Fellowship at the IAC Field of Research: Brown dwarfs and extrasolar planets The main objective within this area of research is the detection and characterization of low-mass stars, brown dwarfs and planets with the aim of determining their physical properties and understanding how stars and substellar objects are formed. Areas of interest: • The substellar mass function in young open clusters and association • Isolated planetary mass objects in young open clusters and association • Low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in star forming regions • Ultra-cool dwarfs in the solar vicinity • Planetary mass companions of young nearby stars • Extrasolar planets around M stars 67 articles published in international journals with referee, since 1998, with more than 2567 citations.
Breve currículo investigador:	• Two “sexenios de investigación” recognized (1997-2002 and 2003-2008) in 2012. • Supervision of Ph D thesis “Formación, evolución y multiplicidad de las enanas marrones y exoplanetas gigantes” by J. A. Caballero (2006) and “Población y función inicial de masa planetaria en regiones jóvenes de formación estelar” by K. Y. Peña Ramírez (2012) and currently is supervising the thesis “Búsqueda y caracterización de enanas marrones y planetas alrededor de estrellas” by Bartosz Gauza (expected 2015) • 67 articles in international journals with referee since 1998 • Total number of citations in NASA ADS: 2567 • Hich factor of 30. • 8 articles have accumulated more than 100 citations. • Two of these articles are among the 10 most cited papers of the field at the year of publication • More than 70 works presented in scientific workshops, including among them 6 invited talks and 2 review talks.
