Director of the Chair
From the beginning of her academic career, the legal and civil protection of children and adolescents has been one of her main lines of research. Her doctoral thesis focused on the civil aspects of international adoption, at a time when there was still no national law, which meant that much of her research proved useful in the legislative process of the Law. She was even invited to testify before the Senate (Spanish Parliament) on this matter. She has published and participated in research projects on topics related to individuals, families, and especially children and adolescents. She has also participated in various knowledge transfer projects with public administrations. She has taught the legal subject in the Master's Program in Family, Social, and Community Intervention and Mediation (Interuniversity) since its inception, as well as in the postgraduate programs that preceded it, always teaching subjects related to the legal protection of children. Currently, she is the Coordinator of the legal, interdisciplinary and inter-university research group, "Law, person and family", in which she directed the collective work "Legal studies on the elimination of violence against children and adolescents" (Aranzadi, 2021).

Member of the "Law, Person and Family" research group at the University of La Laguna. She has coordinated several conferences and seminars focused on the protection of children and adolescents and has participated in debates and roundtables on the best interests of children and adolescents today.
One of the lines of research developed within the study of equality and inequality based on sex and gender focuses on issues affecting girls and adolescents. I also study ways to foster cohesion among vulnerable groups, such as children and adolescents.
Assistant Professor in the Social Work and Social Services Area of the Department of Communication Sciences and Social Work at the University of La Laguna. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of La Laguna, with international distinction and the highest possible grade (Summa Cum Laude). She has a degree in Social Work and postgraduate training in Family Intervention, Family Mediation, and Sociocommunity Mediation. Her teaching and research experience focuses on the social sciences, family intervention, mediation, conflict management, and support for gifted children. She is a member of the Applied Research Group in Behavioral Sciences at the University of La Laguna and has participated in research projects related to intervention and evaluation programs in socio-educational contexts. Since 2019, she has coordinated the Comprehensive Program for Gifted Children.
A university professor since 2006, she has taught at the UNED (National University of Distance Education), the International University of La Rioja, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the University of La Laguna, always in the areas of Developmental and Educational Psychology and Family Intervention and Mediation. She has conducted various research projects linked to regional and national initiatives in the field of family intervention and preservation. She is currently involved in a national project exploring the neural basis of maternal neglect and has several scientific publications, including articles, book chapters, and books, both nationally and internationally. She is currently the director of the Master's Program in Family, Social, and Community Intervention and Mediation.

For many years, I have worked on reducing childhood overweight and obesity from a multidisciplinary perspective. I also study the impact of childhood circumstances on lifelong health and am a member of the UNICEF Committee of the Canary Islands, among other organizations.

He also has specialized training as a professional expert in child abuse, a university expert in criminology, and a university expert in social work and gender violence from the UNED (National University of Distance Education). He has taught at the University of La Laguna as an associate professor and currently as an assistant professor.
She has extensive professional experience in the field of social intervention, developed between 2007 and 2021, both in community social services and third-sector organizations, as well as in the management of a resource specializing in homelessness. She is co-author of the books Detection of Biopsychosocial Risk Indicators in Families with Newborns (2019) and Professional Intervention with Families (2020), and has participated in various research projects focused on women experiencing homelessness and their families.

I have taught in the Master's Program in Family, Social, and Community Intervention and Mediation, specifically in the subject of 'Foster Care and Adoption,' as well as in various Civil Law courses related to Personal and Family Law within the Bachelor of Laws program. I was a member of the research group: Law, Person, and Family (DERPERFA) at the University of La Laguna and served on the organizing committee of the 'World Pre-Congress for the Rights of Children and Adolescents: The Challenge of Eliminating Violence,' held in September 2024. Regarding research, I contributed a chapter to a collective work published by the prestigious Aranzadi publishing house: 'Legal Studies on the Elimination of Violence Against Children and Adolescents,' edited by Professor Dr. María Aránzazu Calzadilla Medina. Furthermore, since I began my teaching activity, I have directed several Final Degree Projects (Degree in Law) and Final Master Projects (Master of Law ULL) in the field of child protection and Family Law from 2014 onwards.
Her main research focus has been on residential care as a child protection measure, and she has published numerous articles on this topic in specialized journals, technical reports, and book chapters. She leads the Child Protection Research Group recognized by the University of La Laguna (ULL) and is an external collaborator with the Family and Childhood Research Group (GIFI) at the University of Oviedo, one of the leading international groups in this field. She is also a member of the International Work Group for Therapeutic Residential Care, comprised of researchers from 16 countries. Since 2021, she has represented the University of La Laguna in the Network of Universities for Children and Adolescents (RUIA).

She is a tenured professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology, Psychobiology, and Methodology at the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy. For the past 20 years, she has been conducting research, intervention, and dissemination in the field of giftedness. She is the director of the Cultural Center for Gifted and Talented Individuals at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the deputy director of the Comprehensive Program for Gifted Individuals (PIPAC). Within this program, she has worked as an educator with groups of children and currently leads a group of parents. She has undertaken several research stays in Mexico for the implementation and development of PIPAC.

With a PhD in Educational Psychology, he has been a lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since 2014, and has headed the department since 2024. He coordinates the Family and Minors Specialization within the Inter-University Master's Program in Family, Social, and Community Intervention and Mediation offered jointly by the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), and teaches the course on Foster Care and Adoption. He is a member of the ULPGC's educational innovation group "Motivation and Emotion in Education," and coordinates national and international projects. He is also a member of the research group "Scientific-Mathematical and Socio-Affective Education (CIMAS)," where he leads the research line "Well-being and Educational Contexts." With an active six-year research period, his interests focus on the well-being and protection of minors, educational innovation, and the family-school relationship. He has collaborated on various knowledge transfer projects linked to the Directorate General for the Protection of Children and Families.
