Activities and training

One of the main objectives for which this Center for Studies was established is the one of develop specialized training in the different areas of knowledge that make up CEDESOG (inequality of opportunity, inequality in health, poverty, intergenerational mobility, etc.), in order to offer society the knowledge and practical tools necessary for the analysis of this problem, contributing to the improvement of the quality of the research and studies carried out on the subject related to the fields of study of the center itself.

CEDESOG thus proposes, with a broad, diverse, and above all, multidisciplinary training offer, To be an active entity in the transfer of knowledge, a driving force for public debate and the promotion and dissemination of studies in this field, and, in addition, by having a faculty of researchers with proven international prestige, to be a Center that transcends the Canary Islands regional scope.

Management team

One of the Center's stated objectives is to serve as a platform for supporting, promoting, and disseminating research projects in each of the research areas in which the Center is present. Seeking to go further, and given the Center's interdisciplinary focus, CEDESOG, at the initiative of its members, opened a [new platform/website/etc.] in March 2017. Open Seminar Series. This is a format designed especially for young people who are beginning to take their first steps in research (doctoral students and researchers in training), but also for seniors, both those affiliated with the center and those not, whatever its theme (although ideally it should have a minimum degree of relation to that of the Center), in which, every 15 days, to be able to improve, to test themselves, by presenting their latest work, studies or articles and subsequently, opening a round of debate with an audience made up of, from senior researchers to young doctoral students, media, public and/or private institutions, or ordinary citizens.
